No I don’t mean the disgusting American blended “whiskey” garbage that Seagram’s makes, but whiskey from around America. This month we’ll be featuring something familiar from Kentucky, something new from Tennessee, something different from Virginia, and something completely unique from Montana.
You might notice that there isn’t a rye in the lot, but there is a bourbon. That’s because when selecting the whiskies for this month I wanted to focus on things that came from a specific state or part of the country and you have Rye coming in from all over the place.
Also this month we’ll be featuring 4 pre-prohibition cocktails whose original recipes just simply asked for “whiskey” and so I took the liberty of pairing the recipe with the state whiskey that seemed to fit it best. Thanks for reading and I hope you’re looking forward to American Whiskey month on The Whiskey Jug as much as I am!
